1. ORGANISATION AND SCOPE OF THE FAIR

The 2001 Lagos International Trade Fair is being organized by the Trade Promotion/Trade Fair Unit of the Lagos Chambers of commerce and Industry. The fair, which is being staged with the support and co-operation of the Federal and state Governments, will cover all aspects of Business and Economic activities in Nigeria. Aerial view of the coomercial city of Lagos It offers a unique focus for manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and users of wide range of goods and services as well as opportunities for investment promotion.

The Fair will focus attention on Nigeria’s economic restructuring programme and the prospects for private sector investment in priority sectors.

2. VENUE

The fair will take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, which is located in the central Lagos, accessible from any part of Lagos State. A total exhibition space of over 70,000m2 is already made available for intending exhibitors.

3. DATE

This year’s fair will commence on 2nd of November to 11th of November 2001.

4. OBJECTIVE

The main objectives of the fair are to:

  •  Promote revitalization and diversification of the Nigerian Economy;

  •  Promote Nigeria’s non-oil export;

  •  Promote accelerated development of Commerce and industry;

  •  Promote made in Nigeria products;

  •  Promote agriculture and agro-based industry;

  •  Spotlight the evolution of the Nigeria’s trade with the outside world;

  •  Direct attention to the role of private sector in the Nigeria economy; and

  •  Indicate prospects for foreign and local private investments in strategic areas.

5. TARGET AUDIENCE

It is anticipated that the fair will attract over 250,000 visitors within and outside the country including businessmen, investors, customers, top government officials and representatives of Nigeria’s important trading houses and those seeking joint-venture promotion.

9 SPACE RENTAL AND SERVICES

Out door non-constructed space will be charged at =N=1,200/m2 and the minimum space for any Exhibition will be 20m/2. Services will be charged as follows:

A. Electricity

  •  20m/2 N10,600.00

  •  21m/2 – 50m/2 N20,500.00

  •  51m/2 – 200m2 N30,250.00

  •  201m/2 – 500m/2 N40,000.00

  •  501m/2 and above N50,800.00

**Electricity is compulsory for all Exhibitors

B. Water - N10,000.00 on request

C. Telephone - N30,000.00 on request

10. APPLICATION

All application for participation shall be made on the prescribed application form, which shall be submitted together

Application forms are available and obtainable from all Nigeria Diplomatic and Consular- Missions abroad, the federal and State Ministries of trade and also at the Secretariats of all Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria.
