Day 2 -
Exhibitor's Stands Competing
at the fair ground, activity is upbeat with exhibitors getting their
acts together setting up their stands to attract the throng of visitors
to the fair ground. Quite unlike yesterday after the opening ceremony
when scanty stands were in place, today, as if by magic most exhibitors'
stands were in place. The turnout at the fair today was impressive with
over 12, 000 visitors.
The noise at the fair is quite deafening with almost all the stands
blaring loudly on big speakers in a bid to attract the visitors. The
layout of the fair ground makes it easy for mobility unlike last year
when human traffic was quite uncontrollable to the extent that movement
was greatly impeded. The number of exhibitors this year is quite
impressive with more stands; this is attributed to the huge size of the
present location of the fair.
at this years' fair are: Tang, Dangote Group, MTN, Econet Wireless,
Michelin Tyres, Dunlop Tyres, Sharp Electronics, Mikano, Nigerian
Bottling Company Plc, Limca, Vitamalt, Pepsi, Nigerian Breweries Plc,
Indomie, UAC of Nigeria Plc, Samsung, USA
Pavilion, among others.
Kudos should be given to Chivalry Merchant and Brokers Limited, the sole
franchise holder for the ticketing and marketing of the 2002 Trade Fair.
In fact they did a wonderful job in managing the crowd and were quite
orderly in the sale of tickets to the visitors to the fair. The
rowdiness that became the hallmark of last year's fair has been
noticeably missing this year.
