Procedure for Registering a Courier Company in Nigeria. (Posted 30th May, 2003) Tell your friends about this page! Email it to them.

The registration process for a courier company in Nigeria starts from the Courier Regulatory Department (CRD) the courier arm of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST). these are the procedure:

1. Letter of application in writing

2. Purchase of relevant registration forms

3. Submission of completed application forms with stipulated requirements like:

 a. Duly stamped memorandum and articles of association with at least  N2,000,000 (two million naira only) paid up capital.

 b. Certificate of Incorporation of company in Nigeria.

 c. Indemnity Insurance Policy, not less than N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira only).

 d. Tax Clearance Certificate.

 e. Company profile and investment report.

 f. Samples of courier stationery like waybills, labels, tags, tamper envelope, receipts, mailbags and registered trademark (if any) etc.

 g. Partnership, merger, alliance (or such other arrangements) agreements (if any).

 h. Evidence of infrastructures e.g. number of trucks, motor cars, motorcycles and aircraft (if any).

 i. Such other information or evidence that may assist the Postmaster-General in taking a decision.

4. Payment of a N1,000,000 (one million naira only) as registration fee in bank draft.

5. Inspection of facility of the applicant.

6. Publishing of approved list of successful applicants.
