Import Prohibition List (Trade) (Posted 19th Aug, 2003) Tell your friends about this page! Email it to them.

This is a list of prohibited items whose importation has been prohibited by the Federal Government of Nigeria. As at today Tuesday 19th August, 2003 the list remain valid:

1. Sorghum

2. Millet

3. Wheat Flour

4. Gypsum

5. Vegetable Oil in Bulk

6. Mosquito Repellant Coils

7. Rethreaded or Used Tyres

8. Gaming Machines

9. Second-Hand Clothes

10. Used Fridges and Air-Conditioning Units

11. Used Compressors

12. Bagged Cement

13. Vehicles of Any King Through The Land Borders

14. Vehicles That Are Above Eight (8) Years From The Date of Manufacture

15. Textiles of Any Kind Through The Land Borders

16. Printed Fabrics (Ankara)

17. Containerized Goods through The Borders

18. Frozen Poultry

19. Cassava and Cassava Products

20. Fruit Juice in Retail Packs

21. Table Water (Sparkling/Non-Sparkling)

22. Tooth Pick

23. Spaghetti and Noodles Biscuits of any Type

24. Drug and Other Regulated Products through the Land Borders.

Importations of any of these items constitute breach of the Prohibition Order. By this public notice, importers are warned that importation of the items will attract outright seizure, while those apprehended in connection with the act will face prosecution.
