NCP Primaries: Gani For President (Posted 27th January, 2003) Tell your friends about this page! Email it to them.

Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), an indigene of Ondo Town in Ondo State and one Mr. Jerry Gyope, a Plateau man contested for the two slots unopposed though the 432 delegates at the Convention were made to cast their votes. Gani garnered all the 432 votes while Gyope got 422. Fawehinmi in his speech was quite optimistic that he will successfully beat President Olusegun Obasanjo, due to the fact that the party belongs to the masses and they will support whosoever will fight their cause.

In another vein, Mr. Femi Falana, a Lagos-based Lawyer and Human Rights activist emerged as the NCP Governorship flag bearer for Ekiti State. Falana, a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), recently decamped to the NCP to actualise his governorship dream. Addressing the State Congress of the party, Falana promised to abolish illiteracy and provide vacation jobs for university under-graduates during the holidays if elected as governor. He further said he will develop the educational sector of the state.
